    第二学期第四周

       虽然已经进入了四月的中旬,但是天气似乎也没有多大的改变,有时上午烈日当空,但一会儿就乌云密布,下起大雨。但是无论天气如何,这丝毫不影响老师与孩子们的工作热情。  

       本周的美劳工作,我们可以看见年纪较小的小朋友在进行剪吸管的工作,并将剪好的吸管贴成屋子。虽然这份工作在之前就已经做过,但是对年纪较小的小朋友也还是一项很大的挑战,因为吸管又细又轻,不好控制,在涂上胶水进行摆放时很容易移位,间接就会造成整体形象的改变,但是通过这样的一个练习不但锻炼他们的专注力和耐心,同时从他们对颜色的选取上又可以体会出孩子们的思考与创意。

       此外,经过了老师的介绍,小朋友开始将自己的染纸工进行延伸,那就在染好的纸上自行作画,或是剪出各种不同形状的物品。或者由老师先在上面画出大致形状,他们可以沿线剪出并贴在白纸板上,成为另一种手工作品。

       语文教学方面:在上一周我们开始的阅读计划这周仍在顺利的进行,由于老师找到的是一系列内容相关的故事书,书中的主要人物相似,情节相关联。所以这样读起来可以让年纪小的小朋友们透过记忆力并产生联想。对于年纪大的小朋友,通过这种训练可以加强对汉字的形象记忆,并学会运用扩充。有的时候老师在经过两三次的讲读后,就会邀请小朋友的参与,让他们延续故事的下文,甚至可以丰富故事的结尾。至于我们的英文学习,小朋友都非常喜欢英文老师所带来的语言活动,每个人都很积极参与。有的时候,还可以看见小朋友们三五成群地在一起模仿英文老师讲故事的方式呢!

       再次回到文化主题——房间,本周我们把小朋友分成三组,给与不同的课题,让小朋友们可以自己进行讨论,通过这样的一个方式,可以看见大班的小朋友可以非常明白老师的指示并积极讨论参与,中班的小朋友虽然可以明白但是他们也只是简单地回答了老师的问题,而小班的小朋友则是在老师一问一答的情况下进行讨论。虽然如此,但是小朋友们却在这样的一个活动中训练他们的口语表达能力,通过倾听与对话,也可以取到他人在之长。这周我们也让小朋友进行房间的自我设计,通过报章,杂志上的图片,小朋友可自行设计,剪贴,着色,来布置自己的房间。有的小朋友在一两张图片配搭下同时为自己的房间进行绘画,美丽可爱的小小房间就形成了。

       阔别了几个星期的大自然之旅,本周三我们再次去到麦里芝蓄水池,小朋友们充满期待与兴奋,在抵达了以后,就迫不及待地想在公园的各处痛快地追,赶,跑,跳…… J

    第二学期第三周

         清明时节雨纷纷,虽然这周又是个多雨水的一周, 但是这丝毫没有影响老师每天早晨站在校门口迎接孩子的心情. 看着充满阳光的健康宝宝走进学校,美好的一天又开始了。和小朋友们一起工作一起成长,是多么愉快的一件事,而我们可以永远保持一颗童心是多么幸运。

              首先,要祝贺筠芳生日快乐,本周五在学校里她和小朋友们一起欢度了五岁的生日,在每个朋友的歌声与祝福声中她又长大了一岁,在这里我们要祝福他快高长大,身体健康。

              这周, 我们的小朋友非常活跃于感官区域, 不论是红棒, 粉红塔, 棕色梯,一项式, 二项式, 色板等都出现等待的现象. 感官教育是为了帮助小朋友能从感觉形成概念. 在透过大小, 长短, 粗细, 颜色等…. 各种不同的变化里使到小朋友的视觉, 听觉, 触觉得到一连串的感觉运动而形成概念. 部分感官区域的教材, 也间接预备小朋友为将来写字做准备, 此外, 感官教育同时也包括了数学前的预备.

              这星期令人伤心的是有一只小仓鼠意外地离开了我们,在小朋友的帮助下我们在花园的角落埋葬了它,并放上许多美丽的鲜花, 这样的一个行动, 不但可以培养小朋友负责任的心更是让小朋友意识到死亡是怎样的一回事。     

              这周的文化活动,我们来到认识房间, 在开始介绍房间以前, 老师先请小朋友向大家介绍自己家里的房间及房间的用途? 有的小朋友说:我的家有书房, 客房, 睡房等….. 也有的小朋友会说: 我每次在房间里和我的弟弟玩….. 短短的一周,似乎不太容易让小朋友了解房间的定义, 但是经过老师的故事书分享: “约瑟芬姨妈的房间小朋友对房间开始有了概念, 开始可以清楚的叙述自己的房间有什么东西. 接下来的一周, 我们将分别为大班, 中班和小班的小朋友进行更深入的活动, 以巩固小朋友对房间的认识.

              接着我们来到华文教学, 本周, 老师开始了阅读计划, 阅读计划的目的是为了帮助大班的小朋友可以自行进行阅读, 而通过故事书《爷爷跌倒了》,小朋友认识并自行读出一些简单的文字, 例如: 爷爷, 奇奇, 家里, 朋友…….. 不仅如此, 小朋友也了解在家里玩玩具,做游戏时要有固定的地方,同时要懂得自己的玩具自己收拾.

              四月份中旬, 期待夏天的到来, 期待更多的精彩. J

    April 01

    第二学期第二周

         很快地,我们进入了第二学期第二周,首先我们要欢迎两位新来的小朋友-梓锐和Isaac. 虽然他们两个是下午班的小朋友,但是这丝毫没有影响其他小朋友对他们的热情欢迎,而他们两位也很快地进入教室工作,虽然有的时候他们还是会有些不习惯。

     

    这个星期几乎每一天都是阳光普照,不论是大朋友或是小朋友都非常积极地想到花园工作,有的负责洗刷游乐场里的攀爬架,滑梯,小屋等…… 有的负责浇花,有的负责替仓鼠更换住所的木屑,有的负责换洗乌龟的水,有的喂鱼,各种各样的户外活动都是小朋友向往的,由于每次户外活动只能够有四个小朋友,为此那些需要等待的小朋友则先进入室内工作,丝毫不让自己清闲下来。这就如蒙特索利所说的:幼儿不断地忙碌着,流露出幸福的表情,无论什么时候都在找一些事情动手做。

     

       本周在美劳工作方面,老师发现一些小朋友在作染纸工作的时候,从需要老师帮忙到可以自行完成折纸的动作,首先小朋友会根据老师之前所做的示范,先将正方形的纸折成一个大三角形,再折成中三角形最后再折成小三角形,然后再将纸放入染料里。这个动作看似简单,但是对于年纪较小的小朋友无疑是一种挑战。也有的小朋友在发现自己可以折纸了以后,就在其他纸上工作进行练习,例如:他们在做金属嵌板绘图的时候,在最后一个程序上加入了折纸的步骤,或是将自己画好的图画折成一个小三角形。从孩子的这些动作里我们看见了小朋友如何将自己所学习到的技能融会贯通地运用在日常生活里。

     

       这一周的文化教学,老师介绍了家里的客厅,透过小组分享,可以发现客厅对小朋友来说是一个看电视,听电话,家人聊天或玩玩具的地方。此外大班的小朋友利用绳子为测量工具,为自家的电视机进行长度与宽度的测量。中班的小朋友则根据自家的沙发颜色进行了颜色配对工作,而小班的小朋友也增加了许多的语言词汇,例如:沙发,窗帘,电话,电视,玩具,风扇等…… 下一周,我们将继续为小朋友介绍家里的房间。小朋友们的家除了睡房,还有那些房间呢?而房间是用来做什么的呢?就让我们和小朋友一起来发现与探索吧!

     

       本周,我们也和小朋友进行了一些课室常规练习,例如:如何正确地拿剪刀或其他尖利的工具以及在听到老师的铃声时,小朋友需要做什么?希望通过提醒与练习,我们大家可以一个在不伤害自己,不伤害别人,不伤害环境的常规下,共同营造一个愉快的学习环境。J

    图形歌, 小朋友在认识各种不同类型的房屋构造时, 同时也认识了各种不一样的图形, 当老师把这首图形歌带出来时, 他们很快地就朗朗上口地跟着唱~~ 这两个星期在教室里, 随时都可以听到小朋友们在哼着这首歌. J

    March 25

    第二学期第一周

    本周只有四天的学校生活,但却是一样丰富精彩。

     

    首先我们要来欢迎新来的小朋友-黄以德,虽然以德只有两岁多,但他长得非常健康高大,很阳光。对一切的新鲜事物充满着好奇和渴望,他积极地参与我们的日常生活,希望他可以很快地掌握我们的教室常规和习惯,并且享受与融入绿荫学校的生活。

     

    假期以后,课室的教学生活也自然走入正轨,课室里每天都如常地呈现出一片繁忙的景象。大班小朋友们遵循着已养成的良好习惯,在还未开始其他工作以前,就会主动地找老师完成自己每天必需的语言与数学工作,然后才去选择自己想要的工作。一些较迟来学校的小朋友,老师当然也会抓住一些空档时间和他们一起工作。中班小朋友是比较“慢热型”的,一定要在他们进来学校之后给他们时间预热,任他们选择一两个自己想要的工作,才能开始进行他们的语言工作,当然在协助他们完成每一项工作的时候,老师也传授一些基本生活技能和生活常识。

     

    目前课室里小班的朋友较多,那么我们的授课方式也会根据人数和他们的不同特点进行分散式或集中式的小组活动。有时可能集中两三个小朋友组成一个小组,有时可能集中四五个小朋友来作一个游戏。对于要求独立完成工作,老师也不断鼓励他们去自己去尝试,这样既达到了独立工作的能力,也培养他们与人相处互相合作的精神。日常生活的前导性工作与训练,是传授百科知识的正确渠道。

     

    本周的大热门是照顾小动物。因为新朋友的加入,也因为前一周我们的假期活动。这次老师在为它们换洗生活环境时,吸引了许多热情帮助的小手,他们认真听讲解,轻轻地动手操作,小心谨慎的样子就像妈妈照顾自己的宝宝。不仅如此,我们的几个准备食物的工作,也常常出现接应不暇的现象,每个小朋友都希望自己动手准备食物料理,然后可以和好朋友一起分享。

     

    这周的文化主题,我们说到了屋子的外部结构,小朋友从故事书里认识到屋子的外部结构包括了:外墙,屋顶,烟囱,天线支架,花园等…… 故事书:有天窗的新房子,不但巩固了小朋友对屋子外部结构的认识,透过故事小朋友理解到了:做错了事,我可以想出一些办法来解决我做错的事。故事带出的真正意义:让小朋友理解到了勇于认错,并从错误中学习。故事里的人物阿邦和奇奇时这周小朋友试着模范的对象。

     

    接下来的一周,我们会为小朋友介绍屋子里的格局,首先我们会首从客厅开始,客厅是让全家大小聚集在一起的温暖地方,而客厅对我们的小朋友来说又是一个怎样的诠释呢?就让我们拭目以待。J

    2008 三月假期活动

        2008第一次的假期活动在阳光明媚的一天中结束, 短短的的五天, 每天不同的精彩活动, 让小朋友们充满活力, 每一天来到学校就迫不及待地想要知道今天会发生什么有趣的事. 这次的假期活动, 我们还是环绕在 房屋这一边部分, 通过户外教学, 动手操做, 让小朋友们渐渐了解明白人与人之间的相处, 合作与团队精神等……

       

    从圣淘沙的沙堡到牛车水的原貌馆, 再到现代生活中前卫的浴室厨房设备. 从以前由人类动手建的稻草屋, 瓦片, 禁不住风吹雨打的房屋再到现代钢筋水泥高楼大厦, 深信小朋友们无不体会出, 其中不同时代, 不同风情, 不同方式的生活环境, 除此之外, 小朋友们也触摸了泥, , 砖块, 瓦砾等建筑材料, 并且亲自使用大纸盒, 帆布等来建构屋子, 其中帐篷式的屋子是最受小朋友喜欢的, 尤其午餐后, 小朋友们三三两两地到帐篷屋里阅读故事书, 画画, 聊天等…… 那里就好象是个小小的秘密基地, 当然大班小朋友们用大纸盒做出来的屋子也非常出色哦, 他们有的将许多盒子结合变成一条类似隧道的房子,当然也有的将大纸盒剪开来,变成开放式的屋子等等….. 大伙儿忙得不亦乐乎,汗流浃背地想要赶快赶快把自己的屋子建起来。

       

    不仅如此,每次出外以前的小组讨论也深受小朋友们喜爱,每天不同的主题,不同的讨论方式,大家都非常积极踊跃地参与其中,只要老师将主题带出来,小朋友就可以双语进行交流,这样不但可以促进小朋友的语言发展,更可以增添他们的自信心在大家的面前表达自己想说的话。

       

    短短的一周,几乎每天都有雨水相伴,但是这丝毫没有影响小朋友们的心情。大伙儿还是为每天的活动感到非常兴奋,在这我们就来简单地回味过去五天的精彩活动,第一天我们去到了圣淘沙的西罗索海边搭建沙堡,在凉风习习的伴随下,一座座的沙堡被建了起来,小朋友在意的是过程不是成果,虽然刚建起来的沙堡一下子就被弄倒了,但这并没有影响他们不断地创造,因为很快的就可以看到另一座沙堡被建起来。第二天可以说是一周活动里最有趣的一天,因为我们本来要在义顺教室户外的草地塔建帐篷,但是天不作美,在塔一半的时候就下起雨来,但这并没有影响到我们,因为我们将帐篷搬到屋子里去,在室内小朋友们依然非常积极踊跃。第三天,大伙儿浩浩荡荡地来到了牛车水原貌馆,看到了许多的旧式传统的建构,不禁要感叹现代科技的发达,虽然大部分的小朋友都觉得整个环境很脏很旧,但是他们却对整个环境感到很有趣。第四天,我们留在课室里,看到了许多利用废物材料制造成的屋子,最后,小朋友还亲自动手利用废物材料建造出自己的房子。第五天,我们来到了新祥骏,一个专门售卖厨房与浴室用品的大商场,小朋友一进到那儿,不断发出哗,哗,哗的声音,想必是第一次将所有这么多的用品收入眼帘,而为此感到惊叹不已。

       

    五天说长不长,说短不短,但是小朋友们的收获肯定是满满的!!J

    March 10

    第一学期第十周

    很快地已经来到2008年第一学期的最后一周,可能十周对一个成人来说并没有什么不一样,然而对我们的孩子来说这短短的九周里,每一天都充满挑战,每天都充满刺激,从睡醒张开眼睛的那刻,孩子们就已经做好准备,迎接每一天的生活。

     

    这个星期有几个早晨下起了雨,以致小朋友们没有办法进行户外工作,例如:浇花,洗刷户外器材等工作都停了下来,但是这并不影响小朋友热爱工作的心情,他们在课室里依然忙忙碌碌地在工作,本周最让小朋友喜爱的工作莫过于“DIY自己的吸管小屋每个小朋友一有机会,就拿起吸管剪呀剪,贴呀贴的,贴出了许多不同的屋子出来(很快会将照片上载),看着自己的作品,小朋友们脸上充满着成就感与喜悦。有的小朋友看到其他小朋友在制作自己的屋子时,也会忍不住提出自己的意见,并坚持希望同伴们采纳自己的意见,但是充满自信的小朋友绝对自己所表现出来的屋子都是最美最特别的!

     

    此外,这周我们也和孩子一起利用在循环的物品,例如:牛奶盒,鞋盒,空罐子等……来研究我们可以使用这些再循环物品做些什么,希望这样小小的活动,除了让孩子实际地体验如何使用再循环物品,也能让孩子了解如何珍惜这些宝贵的资源

     

    本周我们也到了里姆和莎菈的小木屋。在里姆和莎菈的小木屋小朋友看到小小动物如何为自己制作房子。小朋友们非常喜爱这本书,虽然书的故事内容很长,但是他们还是非常专注地听老师把故事说完。间中,看到小动物们的如何布置自己美丽的家时,小朋友还不禁啊~了一声。像是羡慕小动物们的智慧也惊叹它们的创意呢!J

     

     

    下个星期,又是我们的欢乐时光,因为假期到来了!!虽然身在托儿所,但这并没有影响我们期待假期的心情。而每一次的假期,我们都会几集思广益,为孩子筹备假日营,在筹备时,年幼的小朋友也会在我们考量里面,不知道当外人看见我们这样又要背又要抱又要推的,会不会觉得我们自讨苦吃呢?只是当中的经历,感觉只有我们自己知道,即使外人無法理解或想象其中的好。因为也只有自己来体验才会理解出当中的美妙之处。孩子们,欢乐节日营在等着你们哦!!

    第一学期第九周

    不知不覺已经来到这个学期的尾声了,感觉今年过得特别快,大家是否也有同感呢?2008年的二月结束了,我们就这样迈入三月份。让我们来回顾一下小朋友们本周做过些什么活动。

     

    首先,我們要先來祝福小壽星公-昶駒,3嵗生日快樂!!這次的生日慶祝會小朋友先不吃生日蛋糕而是品嘗了美味可口的蘿蔔糕和精致小巧的杯子蛋糕(CUPCAKE)之後,再為我們的小小壽星公唱生日歌,因爲在等待昶駒爸爸的同時,小朋友們的小肚子已經裝下許多美味的食物了,所以再讓人垂涎欲滴的巧克力蛋糕,小朋友們也還是能力有限,所以沒有辦法把蛋糕吃完。但是,第二天的點心卻讓小朋友興奮不已,因爲還可以品嘗到壽星公生日的巧克力蛋糕。

     

    这个星期不知到为什么孩子们显得特别有活力。像是我们寂静了一段时间的食物料理区又再度活跃起来。有的孩子开始做蛋糕,榨橙汁和切苹果了。其他的孩子或是画画或是工作一刻也停不下来。

     

    上次说到我们要进一步深入我们的主题,所以在认识了不同种类的屋子,孩子们继续向前迈进往屋子的部分名称发展。老师跟孩子们介绍了屋顶,天窗,烟囱,前院等名称。孩子们也会跟老师说他们最喜欢的是那一部分,或是他们家里是否也有同样的东西。

     

    孩子们也发现了在我们主题的角落的美劳作品,并且很快地自己动手做了起来,不需要太多的指导孩子们自行发挥他们的想象力。把他们常剪的吸管做成不同种类的屋子,有传统的,花俏的,甚至是露营式的。

    另外就是一直都在课室里的折纸。孩子利用折纸折成的房子,装饰成一幅美丽的画,建构成他们心目中理想的家。

     

    忙忙碌碌一个星期就这样过去了,下个星期我们将会为孩子介绍门和窗的部分名称以及建造一间房子所需要的材料。

     

    Week 9 (25 Feb to 29 Feb'08)

    Yikes!! In just one more week, just one more week and it’s the end of our first term!!! That is fast, real fast how time goes by when everyone is engaged with activities and we spent each day to its fullest. J

     

    The children were really busy this week. Moving on from previous experience, they were able to extend their learning from the basic. From observing the newly added items from our cultural area, their interest is aroused, creativity kicks in and there they take off.

    In the previous week, children drew and wrote down the type of housing they were staying in. This week, more houses were drawn and more details were added in their pictures. With keen observation, they realized that “new houses” were made in the cultural area ~ paper folded houses, clay house and houses made from the straws which they had been cutting. This immediately created a commotion and everyone, were seen cutting straws, folding paper to create a replica of what they had seen. But with the children’s own creativity, one by one their art piece was created with individual style. J

     

    From creating houses with various materials, we move on to learning the parts of a house. Not only introducing the common terms ~ roof, window, door, doorknob, the children were introduced to doorstep, shutter, front yard….. and last but not least the “chimney”. Though we do not get to see “chimney” in Singapore and the children knows it, the moment that part is pointed out and without saying anything, all the children were able to give the correct answer.

     

    Next week, not only will we revise on the parts of a house, window and door. We will also start to look at the materials needed to build a house from the past to the present. J

     

    婴幼儿班- 部落格~1

    时光飞逝,2008年转眼间已过了两个月,在这期间内,本班(婴幼儿班)增加了几位新朋友是「泳锭、敬轩、峗嶪和Alex」有了他们的加入使得本班添加了许多欢乐.

    当老师透过丹丹刷牙图标小书,每天说书给小朋友听,他们对书中的丹丹、小熊、小猪、小狸猫还有小白兔等等都非常喜欢,加上老师的刷牙动作,他们现在对牙刷已有了初步的认识及用途了.

    每天冲凉时,老师会拿牙刷给孩子们尝试刷牙的乐趣,虽然还不能正确的使用牙刷,但对牙刷已不陌生了,每个小朋友拿到牙刷总是甩一甩,敲一敲再拿到嘴巴咬一咬,那可爱的模样不难想象喔!

    各位爸爸、妈妈,在家时您也可以尝试和孩子一起刷牙,享受一下亲子互动的关系喔!最近我读了一本史宾塞的快乐教育亲子教养书籍,其中提到史宾塞的快乐教育法则我个人觉得不错,想借这机会与爸爸、妈妈一起分享共勉…….

    史宾塞的快乐教育法则:

    不要在自己情绪很糟时教育孩子,这时,很容易把情绪发泄在到孩子身上.

    不要在孩子情绪低落或刚刚哭闹后,开始教育或强迫他学什么.这样,你常常会根据不好的教育效果,而误认为自己的孩子天赋太差.

    在家庭教育中,努力去营造快乐、鼓励的气氛,让孩子有实现感和成就感.

    努力做一个乐观、快乐的人,一个快乐的人,多半看到的是孩子的优点;而一个不快乐的人,多半看到的是孩子的缺点.

    第一學期第八周

    ~一晃眼华人农历新年就结束了,真的好快噢!当然我们不会就这样让它过去,除了庆祝华人新年的最后一天也就是元宵节我们也在同一天跟仁杰一起庆祝了他六岁的生日,可爱的樱桃巧克力蛋糕跟小礼物都让孩子们兴奋到最高点。在此祝仁杰健康快乐,快高长大。

     

    随着华人新年的结束我们把新年角落的饰品和食品撤下,换上跟我们的常年主题-屋子有关的物品。小朋友对于各种有关的书籍,美劳作品都非常感兴趣。老师也请小朋友们在家帮忙收集一些不要的纸盒,以便用来做美劳工作,当然也请家长们多多帮忙。

     

    配合我们的主题这个星期,大的孩子要绘画出他们所居住的屋子,并且写下大牌或是门牌以及他们所住的屋子类型。现在他们都很清楚的知道自己住的是那种类型的房子了呢。小的孩子则是利用不同形状的颜色纸拼贴出他们的房子,年纪小小的他们对于自己想要的颜色和设计可是非常的坚持的噢。

     

    下个星期我们还会更详细地介绍房子的细节部分,以及更多有趣的活动敬请期待。

    Week 8 (18 Feb to 22 Feb'08)

    This week, the children seem to be “filled” with excitement to the brim. It has been observed since the first day of school with them communicating with their friends with lots of things to talk about, running around the classroom looking for their friends, getting in groups to work on certain activities and also getting together to draw.

    Outdoor activities such as watering plants, scrubbing of outdoor equipment and picking up of leaves and flowers continue to be one of the highlight this week. Indoors, children busy themselves with most of the sensorial activities. Building of the pink cubes and brown prisms together into a tall tower has reappear, working on the constructive triangles which indirectly prepares the child for math and geometry and building a cube with the binomial and trinomial cube which prepares the child for algebra.

     

    Puzzles are also “worked” on daily by the children. They not only worked with those, which they are familiar with, they also challenged themselves with those, which they rarely worked on. J

     

    On Thursday, the children had a gathered together to celebrate Andrew’s 6th birthday. they also had a slice of chocolate cake. Yum! Yum!

     

    On Friday, two group activities took place ~ one for the older children while the other for the younger children. With the older children, they each drew the type of housing they lived in and were also reminded to write down their block number if they are living in a flat. As for the younger children, they were shown various coloured shapes needed to “construct” their house on paper.

     

    Next week, children will be invited to add details onto their drawing and also learning the parts of a door.

    February 19

    Week 7 (11 Feb to 15 Feb'08)

    In just three more weeks, we will come to an end of our very first term of school. It’s amazing how time goes by when we just celebrated the New Year and now, we are already into the 7th week of the term!! 

     

    Lots of things had happen over the past few weeks and now it’s a good chance to recollect our thoughts and find out what has gone on in terms of the children’s learning in the classroom as well as the excursion during Chinese New Year’s Eve.

     

    The excursion on the 6th February ~ Chinese New Year’s Eve was great. It was not crowded as we had witness in the previous years and this allows the children to have plenty of time and space to look at each different stall to look for the specific items, which had been discussed earlier in class.

     

    During the trip, they were able to spot their favourite cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse, Jerry….. as they are all rats and this year it’s the year of the RAT!! When asked what other cartoons could they think of that has a rat, they were very quick in giving the answer ~ Ratatouille!

     

    Apart from spotting all the “RATS” on the red packets, decorative items hanging around, the children were also asked to spot lion’s head for Lion Dance and mandarin oranges. 

    On our way back, more sweets were bought and given to each child to wish them “Sweetness throughout the year”. J

     

    Back in school, one would think that the children will still be having festive mood but I was wrong. They were very much back into the routine pretty quickly.

     

    Children busies themselves in working with the various materials in the different areas but one activity sure did get lots of attention this week ~ scrubbing of outdoor equipment and watering plants. They will find a partner or work in fours and have a great time climbing up and down the climber, scrubbing every base, pole and slide while others will be busy watering all the flowers in the garden. Each time a pair has completed, another two will initiate to have their turn.

     

    Next week, children will be introduced to the various setting in a home environment and also to discuss which area they loved most at home. J

    时光飞逝一眨眼这个学期已经过了一大半。华人新年也快接近尾声了。就让我们来回顾农历新年前后小朋友做过些什么。

     

    大年除夕我们到牛车水去逛年货市场,也许是因为时间的关系,人潮并没有想象中的多。小朋友们对于各种琳琅满目的新年饰品都很感兴趣,尤其今年是鼠年,所以可以看到不少跟老鼠有关的吊饰。他们还看到了柚子、葫芦、年糕、风车各种跟新年有关的事物。当然小朋友们最喜欢的还是各式各样包装精美的糖果,當然我們也买了糖果和糕点让小朋友带回家去,过一个快乐的新年。

     

    大年初五开学时,还有许多的小朋友没有回来上课,相信新年的几天假期小朋友们一定玩得不亦乐乎,虽然如此,那些来上课的小朋友并没有受到影响,很快的就可以看见小朋友投入地工作。不但如此,有的小朋友也不忘带来了一些新年食品,例如:橘子,糖果等…… 来和大家分享。

     

    在充满佳节的气氛下,我们来到的大年初七 -人日节
    顾名思义, 人日即人的生日。 这不是某人生日, 而是全人类生日。 至于节日起源, 是根据《 占书 》记载, 指出由初一开始, 上天创造万物的次序是「一鸡二狗、 三猪四羊、 五牛六马、 七人八谷」。 所以初七便是人日。将这样的典故告诉小朋友似乎是太难懂了,但是告诉他们大年初七是人日,即使人人过生日时,他们就明白了,而且还很开心地说我和我的爸爸妈妈一起过生日。J

     

    除了人日,还有一个特别的日子就是-214情人节,情人节并不是一个专属情人的日子,情人节是一个分享爱的日子,小朋友们剪了一些心型,在团体时间时,大家分享了自己所爱的人,充满热情与爱的小朋友们例出了许多许多的名字,之后我们大伙儿一起动手装饰及准备午餐的桌子,他们每一个人非常开心地将准备出一张张充满“爱心”的桌子。午餐就在充满爱与喜悦的气氛下进行。J

     

    最近天气都不错,所以趁着阳光普照,孩子们会到户外去浇浇花,刷刷地板。偶尔忙得太起劲弄湿了自己还不晓得,老师们就会提醒他们做完之后要去换上干净的衣服。小朋友们也没有忘记室内的花草树木,细心地为它们一一浇水。也有孩子会拿起鸡毛帚扫扫教具上的灰尘。他们也会记得喂食我们的小宠物们。借由这些看似微不不起眼,照顾动植物等的工作,其实能让小朋友了解自己和所处环境和东西之间的关系,且能因整理而拥有对物品的管理及独立的能力。

    学校附近地区各种不同类型的房屋

     

            今年的文化教学主题围绕在-屋子. 小朋友们因此认识了许多不同类型的房屋, 例如: 排屋, 私人公寓, 私人洋房, 政府组屋,  …..

     

            这个1(25), 西湖的小朋友一早就来到学校, 因为今天我们将带小朋友到附近地区走走看看, 在还没有出发以前老师先将每种房屋的类型与特色画在白版上以帮助小朋友更容易认出屋子的类型. 首先, 我们为小朋友介绍了双层排屋, 排屋有有小花园, 有篱笆, 信箱是在自己的门前, 排屋分单层或双层; 私人公寓里有游泳池, 儿童游乐场; 私人洋房有自己的花园, 游泳池; 政府组屋有很多层楼, 信箱都是在一起的.为小朋友介绍完毕以后, 大伙儿就浩浩荡荡地出发了……

     

            首先, 我们来到学校附近的排屋, 排屋有花园, 篱笆, 信箱是在自己的家门前的…. 小朋友凭着之前所介绍的记忆,一一叙述出自己所认识的排屋. 之后, 我们步行到汤申公寓,来到公寓时小朋友们很高兴地说: 公寓里有游泳池, 有游乐场, 一些住在公寓的小朋友也说: 我住的公寓也有游泳池和游乐场, 你们可以到我家玩.J

     

            看了排屋及公寓以后, 我们继续步行到新民路一带的房屋, 一路上小朋友们高兴地讨论着他们所看过的屋子有那些, 虽然他们都是自己走路的,  但是并没有小朋友说累哦, 不但如此, 老天爷可非常照顾我们呢, 给了我们一个风和日丽的早上.J

     

    不知不觉, 我们来到了新民路一带的房子, 在那里小朋友们看到了独立式洋房. 当时, 大家的反应是: , 好大的房子, 我们所看到的这所洋房有大大的花园, 花园里还有一些儿童的户外设施, 在洋房的后院我们还看到了游泳池, 我想:如果小朋友们可以在这房子里跑动跑动, 大家应该会兴奋无比吧.此外, 洋房外的小圆筒信箱也非常吸引小朋友呢!

     

            接着,我们来到了的店屋, 店屋即是楼下是店面, 楼上是住屋的那种,在这长长的一排店屋里, 我们看见了各式各样的商店,例如:汽车维修,咖啡店,理发店,诊所,银行,宠物店等等……我们还顺道参观了宠物店里所饲养的各样可爱小狗狗呢! 

           

            最后,我们来到了新民路的政府组屋区,在政府组屋区里小朋友首先学习到了如何辨别各个组屋的大牌,然后了解到信箱上的号码由来,最后,我们还让小朋友凭着信箱上的号码,到楼上去寻找该所房子哦.参观了各种各样的房屋,小朋友也走了很长的一段路,最后,我们在组屋区楼下的儿童游乐场享受着美味可口的点心.

     

            在回学校的路上,一首接着一首的儿歌唱游成为了我们路上的消遣娱乐!

    毛毛虫过新年,

    一只做年糕,

    一只搓汤圆,

    一只放鞭炮,

    一只贴春联,

    蝴蝶准备压岁钱.

     

    新年的脚步离我们越来越近, 课室里也增添了不少春节的装饰, 到处都是一片喜气洋洋的气氛. 小朋友上周和羊妈妈包水饺后, 这周我们继续和毛毛虫一起过新年. 小朋友非常喜爱这首儿歌的内容与动作, 虽然还不是非常熟悉,但是还是可以听到一些小朋友在重复练习.

    Dec School Holiday Program- Day 6

    Jurong Bird Park

    Our second week started well, more outings to go, more cooking lessons to cook and more extraordinary excitement for the whole upcoming week.  Our first day of the week, started of so well.  Monday outing is to the famous Jurong Bird Park.  Though the weather, was pretty dull, all our children's including the teachers were really happy to be out. There was no sign of rain drops. So off we go...

     

    We were warmly welcome by the counter assistant. We marched on to the Fuji Hawk Show, where we saw tons of birds presenting a marvelous trick we discover many types of eagles and owls, so that's why they called 'the hawk show'.  The show came to an end, everyone left except for the Greentree children's and the teachers. We had our breakfast, and rest for while.  Of course we need more energy; there are more places for us to hike on.

     

    We walked on; we saw parrots, talking ones and normal ones.  During our walk we found and saw many different kind of birds, some live in water, others live in the aviary, nest, dovecote and columbary. We also hike on to the jungle jewel corner, the penguin house and the house of darkness (owls). The children's realize many interesting facts about the birds and their kind of living. It was a good day.

     

    Our last finale place was to the parrot show.  The show will be beginning at 30 minutes sharp, guess we were very early for the show, so we planned to have an early lunch. Slowly we discovered that it was drizzling, the children's were really hoping for the show, as sometimes due to raining, certain shows will be re-scheduled.  But it was our luck, as the show begins as been scheduled. We saw lovely parrots, which can talk, sing and even paint for us.

     

    Thank god, we didn't missed the show, if not we wouldn't have seen the parrot who sing, the wish you a merry Christmas carols. At the end of the day, we had a great day.

     

    Finally time for us to go back to our school, the bird was over and we off to school.  After arriving back to school, all our children’s will still in the flying mood.

     

    The activities for our children’s were started, the bigger groups went in for their cookery class, and the smaller ones went in for reading sessions and puzzle making.  The bigger children’s make for us a bouncy jelly and they share with our smaller ones during our snack.

     

     

    Dec School Holiday Program- Day 7

    Mushroom Farm & Animal Resort

    Second day of the week we go to Mushroom Farm and a bonus place to Animal Resort.  It was a double bonus day.

     

    The Mushroom Farm only opens at 11am, as all our children's were in the outing mood.  Our teachers thought of another plan, that was the plan to the animal resort. All our children's were really excited to hear this news.  They were waiting eagerly for our school bus to arrive. Our school bus was here and everyone hop in.

     

    Soon we reached, the Animal Resort, the teacher's spoke to the resort owner and we get in the permission to looked at the animals and also feed them.  We went in to the resort, it was a mini zoo, and there were variety of animals in this resort.  Of course compared to our Singapore zoo it was effeminately small. 

     

    Before we can feed the animals, the resort owner gave a short speech about the animals and the way of feeding the animals.  The resort owner also, warned us about the animals’ behavior and to stay away from those animals.  The resort owner, gave us a basket of food, which been packed and labeled nicely.  We washed our hands and we took a tour to the mini zoo.  It was a cute mini zoo, where we saw animals like rabbits and guinea pigs. We also saw a big iguana, it was really scary, but lucky it was in a cage.

     

    "Times up" the teacher's announced, all our children's sadly marched on to wash their hands and up to the school bus.  The goat feeding, the ostrich feeding will be still our memories.  Good time can't be forgotten.  We reached the Mushroom Farm; we were welcome by the assistant there. They briefed us about the different types of mushroom and the way breeding.

     

    We take a looked at those mushrooms where they were been breeding.  It was bit smelly inside, but surprise to see all of them were breeding in a cool environment. The assistant warned us not to touch as they might be spoiled.  We also had a mushroom delight, we eat it pleasantly and the taste was really good.

     

    Time for us go back to the school.  After arriving back to school, we had lunch in the backyard.

     

    The activities for our children’s were started, the bigger groups went in for their cookery class, and the smaller ones went in for reading sessions and puzzle making.  The bigger children’s make for us a delightful delight the mushroom soup and they share with our smaller ones during our snack.

     

     

    Dec School Holiday Program- Day 8

    Kids Explorer

    It was drizzling; the black clouds were form in the sky.  It was a raining day, but our third day of the week was out to Bishan Park.  Balls, Frisbee all been packed.  Hope to see sun out in the sky.  A Bad day, either sun or clouds.  We were all sad, that there might be no outing today. 

     

    As usual, out teachers make a splendid day, a plan to go to the Kids explorer.  A place they can play with the balls and the fun maze. 

     

    All our children's and our teacher's kept our bags and our shoes in the respective places except for our socks. As socks need to be wear.  Before entering the fun zone, teachers remind the safeties’.

     

    Definitely it was a fun zone, and the safest place to hang around, the smaller ones were in the ball section, where they were playing with thousand of balls.  The bigger one, were trying their luck in the maze.  It was not that difficult to get lost in the maze. Beside the maze corner, they also have the human snake and ladder. 

     

    The human snake and ladder is a very simple game, just like the snake and ladder.  The only different, is we were be moving when we threw the dice each time.  For our young ladies, the fun zone also provides 'Winx Club Cartoons'

     

    After a long day, clinging on the maze, bouncing with the balls, our children's were famished; we came out of the fun zone, with the fun memories.  We took our lunch and ready to leave.

     

    Once we reached school, we had no much time but to start our activities as fast as possible.  Once again bigger groups and the smaller groups were separated and took them to their respective class and teachers. 

     

    The activities for our children’s were started, the bigger groups went in for their cookery class, and the smaller ones went in for reading sessions and puzzle making.  The bigger children’s make for us is Fruit Jam and they share with our smaller ones during our snack

     

     

    Dec School Holiday Program- Day 9

    Church & Orchard Road

    Our forth day of the week was to Orchard Road, Christmas is coming.  Our children's were also looking forward for this beautiful day, Today's target was to count the most Christmas tree to be found in Orchard Road.  During the bus journey, all our children's were singing along the Christmas carol, and make a memorable one in this special day.

     

    Our first place is to a church. "The God Shepherd".  As usual we warned our children's not to speak louder and we enter the holy church.  Our teacher's told us about the history of the lord Jesus, the crucial act and the recantation.  We also discovered the bible for the Christians and the way of praying.

     

    After leaving the church, we went on a tour to the Orchard Road, many decorations were decorated nicely along the roads, that's why its Christmas seasons.  Many big buildings were nicely decorated with Christmas items.

     

    Our counting spree, was about to begin.  Many children's found different types of Christmas trees, from 10, we found 20 Christmas trees. Yet our search was not fulfilled.  So our search begins, we walked along the centre point building, Wisma atria building and many more buildings, those buildings were decorated with Christmas decorations nicely.

     

    Our final spot is to the Biggest Christmas Tree, which is located at the Takashimaya.  All our children's and our teacher's took some picture with the Christmas tree, and we sat down to have our break fast.

     

    We walked along the roads, we saw fountains, and we also saw the street singers, entertaining the people out there.  While we walking we spotted a salvation army, this is especially for the needy people.  Our teacher's exclaimed about the Salvation Army and the way everyone can help.  Our trip to Orchard Road, was not only about Christmas trees, bells and presents, it also about sharing and caring.

     

    Finally time for us to go back to our school, the exciting day was over and we off to school.  After arriving back to school, all our children’s will still in the Christmas mood.  So total Christmas tree found were 40.  We had lunch in the backyard

    裕廊飞禽公园

    鸟的世界

          新的一周开始了,我们的假期活动还在继续。今天的目的地是飞禽公园。一路上我们伴着圣诞节的歌声,伴着欢笑。这里也为迎接圣诞作了特别的装饰与准备,连飞禽表演也带有圣诞的韵味。

          老鹰,猫头鹰等各种尖嘴巴,大翅膀,飞速极快的大鸟表演穿行在小朋友的中间,引来欢笑声,紧张声不断。而毛色艳丽,能歌善画的鹦鹉表演就是另一番景象了,观赏着啧啧称赞声此起彼伏,小朋友更是连声称奇。一路走来世界各地的珍禽尽收眼底,有的纯红,有的纯白,有的棕黄,有的紫兰……最刺激的是猫头鹰馆,最惊险的是走过两只巨型蜥蜴当道的木桥,最可爱乖乖的当然是企鹅宝宝。真是一片鸟语花香的世界。

          下午制作的是甜甜的,软软的果冻。一样是食材简单,制作容易。我们加入了各种水果,有了自然清香,有了清淡色彩,有了入口爽滑。他们吃着自己制作的成果,当然是一粒接一粒,欲罢不能.

    蘑菇与家禽乐园

    蘑菇与家禽的世界

          今天的行程特别丰富,我们先去家禽饲养场喂养小动物,可以亲手喂食小动物是小朋友喜欢做的事。每天喂食照顾小动物是我们的日常工作,这样可以培养他们的爱心和亲和力。

          通过讲解我们了解到喂食不同动物的不同饲料和方法。小朋友们走去动物跟前亲自喂食山羊,小兔子等温和的动物。一群鹅在院中散步,搞得我们很紧张,之后就适应了,甚至到招呼和说再见。培养他们拉进与小动物的距离,可以增强他们的爱心与勇气,建立为人善良的性格。

          第二站蘑菇园就是清香四溢了,参观了蘑菇的生长大棚之后,竟然有机会品尝新鲜原味蘑菇,真是又惊喜又开心。

          下午的食品制作自然是新鲜味美的蘑菇汤,蘑菇园的新鲜配以喜欢的佐料,吃的多多,就营养多多。

    儿童探索乐园

    探索的世界

          下了一夜的雨,早上还是没有停下来。于是我们临时改变去碧山公园的计划,去一个室内游乐场。这是一个大型的室内游乐园,优势和较大龄孩子们的软滑梯,优势和较低龄孩子们的彩球池。这里可以锻炼孩子们的胆量,训练攀爬的能力,培养朋友间沟通合作的能力,孩子们尽情的游戏,累了还可以坐在角落里边看电视边休息。

          用过了午餐,我们仍然要头顶牛毛细雨回到学校,急需我们的果酱制作课程。我们用纯粹的水果如柠檬,橙子来榨汁,加入鸡蛋,牛油,真是新鲜又营养,再搭配面包或饼干,好吃的不得了。于是大家又分享了美味的下午茶点。

     

     

     

    2007-12月假期活动-第九天

     

    乌节路

    .树的世界

                圣诞节就要来临了,今天我们带小朋友去参观本地著名的乌节路。经过装饰乌节路焕然一新。第一站式教堂,在这里通过聆听,我们了解了圣经里的故事,节日的由来,懂得了虽然在我们的周围有许多不同种族,不同肤色,不同国家,不同信仰,不同语言的人,但我们生活在一起很和谐,很快乐,我们要与人为善。

          整条乌节路都是圣诞树,彩灯的海洋。我们一路走来,边观看街景,边数着大大小小的圣诞树,树上缀满了雪花灯,在白天阳光的照射下闪闪发光,相信晚上来观看更会是绚烂无比。我们一直记得数过的树木,直到学校,孩子们说看到了38棵,一定不止这些。

          下午的食品制作是较复杂的中式饺子。揉面,做皮,包馅,合拢,都要他们亲自参与,亲手制作,虽然繁琐,但每一个都乐此不彼,不只爱做,而且爱吃。虽然耗时耗力,却体会出各个中艰苦。

    三巴旺海边

    寓教于乐的世界

                最后的安排是去三巴旺海滨捡拾垃圾。这是一种寓教于乐的教学方式,爱护环境是每个成年人都懂得遵守的公共道德,但这个好习惯确是要在从小培养起来的。也许大人觉得无所谓,总是有清洁工人为我们服务,但孩子们工作的很认真,三个小组比着前进,有竞争就有动力,转眼间三大袋垃圾堆在了垃圾箱的旁边。额头冒出细细的汗珠,看着因为工作而弄脏的双手,他们笑得那样天真,那样满足。所谓教育不一定要坐在课堂里,可以来到大自然中,在工作与玩乐中他们学到知识,掌握技能。这也正是我们想要的。

          在自己整理过的环境中休息,娱乐心情是不同的吧!那我们就去游乐场玩滑梯,玩沙去。既锻炼了身体,有增进了友谊。毕竟,亲近大自然是你和我都想要的。

    Mandai Orchid Garden

    Greentree Montessori Holiday Sessions are here; Teacher’s have put in so much of effort to bring this holiday sessions as a learning part through out for the children’s. In this journal, we will know what our children’s have contributed in those fun and learning activities in the whole periods.

     

    Our first day of the week, started of so well.  Bright and sunny all the way, children’s were also looking really excited.

     

    Monday outing is to Mandai Orchid Garden.  This garden offers a fine display of the myriads of orchids in open sunshine, and is a place of horticultural interest in our Singapore.  The children’s and teachers walk down to the 2 hectares to our Vintage Garden.

     

    We were warmly welcome by the counter assistant, and took us to a short session about Mandai Orchid Garden.  After the short session, we were off independently to the beautiful garden.  The children’s saw a vast variety of orchids on an open hillside with the gradual gradients provided an ideal condition for orchid cultivation.

     

    The children have also looked into the 200 varieties of orchid which are grouped into major families namely: Mokara, Dendrobium, Vanda, Aranthera, Renantanda, Aranda and Garammatophylum speciosum (Tiger Orchid).

     

    A great day at the Orchid Garden, we discovered many new and different flowers and also their cultivating ways.  It was really an educational tour for us.  After an awesome day, it’s time for us to take some breath and filled up our stomach.  After gaining back our energy, we walked around the garden again.

     

    Time for us to go back to our school, the flowery day was over and we off to school.  After arriving back to school, all our children’s will still in the flowery mood.  We had lunch in the backyard.

    Dec 07 School Holiday Program- Day 2

    Pasir Ris Park

    Second day of the week, we visit Pasir Ris Park Fisherman Village.  This day is more to the fun side and enjoying time.  When we reached there, we find a place to gather a picnic.  We keep all our belongings and form a straight row.

     

    Before entering to the fun side, we remind our children’s to be safe and take care of themselves.  Our children’s can’t wait to experience the most dangling fun, finally they were off independently.

     

    Soon we saw many children’s were clinked in one section, was none other than the swing corner. We let the smaller children’s played in the small swing, which was very compatible for them, and the bigger ones in the bigger swing.  After tired playing in the swing, our children’s explored themselves.

     

    In Fisherman Village, there’s a big playground area for the children’s to play and explore.  For small children’s, also have small maze interior especially for them.  The small groups were playing in the maze, until they don’t wish to explore in other places. 

     

    Everyone was having super fun, until the teacher’s called everybody for lunch. Oh it’s time for lunch; we didn’t want to leave this exciting place.  So after our lunch we were still in Pasir Ris Park, playing in the playground and swinging and swinging.

     

    Okay it was time for us to go back to school, we didn’t want to leave the fun yet we still leave as it was almost late for our cookery class and our story telling time.  So our children’s leave the park with the full of enthusiastic memories.

     

    Once we reached school, we had no much time but to start our activities as fast as possible.  Once again bigger groups and the smaller groups were separated and took them to their respective class and teachers. 

     

    The activities for our children’s were started, the bigger groups went in for their cookery class, and the smaller ones went in for reading sessions and puzzle making.  The bigger children’s make for us an icy dish called Ice Glutinous Rich Dumpling and they share with our smaller ones during our snack.

     

     

    Dec 07 School Holiday Program- Day 3

    Ang Mo Kio Library

    It was drizzling; the black clouds were form in the sky.  It was a raining day, but our third day of the week was out to Ang Mo Kio Library. Once we arrived, we have our breakfast and waited at the library entrance.  The library opened exactly at 10am.

     

    Before we enter the library, our teachers pointed out some important rules to our children’s. The four important rules are speak softly; switch off your hand phones, no pets allowed and no food and drinks.  Our children’s understood the rules and we went in quietly.

     

    All our children’s hold their partner’s hand and walked in a row.  The library assistant usher us to an activity room to keep our belongings. Soon we started our own tour.  Ang Mo Kio Community Library provides lending and reference library services and reference audiovisual service for children, young people and adults.

     

    On the ground floor, we observed the Circulation Counter, the Children’s Section, the Storytelling Room, Staff Workroom and the multi-purpose Lecture Hall.  And on the second floor there are the young people and the adult section. 

     

    After a long tour in the library, we finally headed off to our activity room, to organise our own activities.  Our teacher’s get some interesting books from the library and conducted a story telling session for the children’s.  Our children’s were interested in reading their own books.

     

    Our teacher’s get some fictional, non-fictional, fairy tales and more stories just for them.  After receiving all the books, each child gets one book and they started to read on their own.  Sooner our teacher’s announced that our day has come to an end.  Everyone get ready with their belonging and we leave the library with the learning memories.

     

    On our way to school, in the bus journey the children’s were talking to their partner about the book’s which they read in the library. 

     

    The activities for our children’s were started, the bigger groups went in for their cookery class, and the smaller ones went in for reading sessions and puzzle making.  The bigger children’s make for us noodles and they share with our smaller ones during our snack.

     

     

    Dec 07 School Holiday Program- Day 4

    Singapore Zoological

    Our forth day of the week, started with a clear weather, neither rainy nor sunny.  We were hoping for a better weather, as we were going to the wild side.  Guess everyone should know. 

     

    Thursday outing was to Singapore Zoo.  Our teacher’s planned an Itinerary for our child’s to visit the entire animals in the zoo.  During our bus journey each child’s were talking about different kind of animals and their favorite’s ones.  We realize some of our children’s still favors our two rabbits that we grew in our school.

     

    We reached the zoo happily, but the rain seems to spoil the mood.  It started with a drizzle but start raining heavily.  We have no choice, to wear on our raincoats and walked in the rain.  At the arrival, we meander through the rainforest walk to catch the sight of the Asian small-clawed otter.  We headed past to the Gibbon Island for a glimpse of our acrobatic apes. 

     

    After a tired walk, we hopped onto a tram to rest our soles. Many of our exhibits also have viewing galleries that allow us to observe the animals comfortably.  We stopped at the cheetahs mobile.  We saw the wild animals there.  Zebras, Giraffe, Lions, Leopards, and Cheetahs were found in this part of the lane.

     

    The children’s were pretending to roar like a lion, but lions were pretending to be quiet.  After our lunch in the zoo, we took a quick ramble past the Reptile Garden for all things scaly – from our giant Aldabra tortoises to the rhino iguanas to the Komodo dragons. 

     

    We headed of very fast to see the animal show, where we can see dog, cats and rats doing tricks.  It was a good show, we were happy that, we didn’t miss this show.  One of our children’s Khay Liang participated in the animal show, and makes our Green Tree look so proud.

     

    Time to leave the wild; we took back a tram to go back to the main entrance again.  While we leaving we catch the spectacular white tigers at Tiger Trek. This exhibit is designed in an interactive mode with multimedia animal facts and messages about wildlife conservation. We have an opportunity to see a tiger’s pug mark, hear a tiger roar and watch a video on tiger bones and how poachers hunt it to make traditional medicine.

     

    Even though it was a raining day, we agreed that we still had fun in the Singapore Zoo.

     

     

    Dec 07 School Holiday Program- Day 5

    East Coast Park

    Our fifth day of the week started of so well.  Bright and sunny all the way, children’s were also looking really excited, as we are going to East Coast Park.

     

    Once we reached there, we settle all our belongings in a shelter, those children’s who brought their sand castle toys brought them to the beach as well,  all the children’s wear their swimming suit and trunks and went on marching to the beach.

     

    It was a very good weather to play in the lovely sand and the sea.  The teacher’s as usual station to their respective place.  Some teacher’s were also station in the sea as well.  Once the teacher’s were ready, the children’s were all set to come down to play in the sea.

     

    Simply sweet to see all the lovely children’s in their swimming suits, playing in the water, some of our children’s settle in the sand to make a castle on their own.  They were all ready with their sandcastle toys and started to build their own castle. 

     

    In the other side of the sea, the children’s were playing, jumping, and running in the water.  Some of our children’s were also lying on the wet beach playing with the wet sand.  It was a good splash in the water.

     

    We were in the beach for too long, until we didn’t realise, that it was lunch time.  We moved slowly out from the beach to walk back to our shelter.  We will all in sand from head to toe.  Our teacher’s guided our children’s to take a shower, after our shower we were all famished.

     

    We had our lunch, and we took a deep rest.  After taking a good rest, we sat under the tree, for a story telling session and some munching.  All our children have had a good time at the beach as well under the tree.

     

    During the bus journey to go back to school, we realise that many places were wet, it’s seems to be raining at those places.  We were really lucky to had a bright and through out a sunny day, all the way.

     

    When we reached our school, many of the children’s were tired; some were even fall asleep in the bus.  All the children’s took a short nap

    万里胡姬花园

    花的世界

          今天是我们学校假期活动周的第一天,小朋友们在上周就已经开始期待这个假期的来临,所以一早都穿着干净整齐的校服来学校报到,我们向花的世界——胡姬花园出发了。

          我们沿着花的走廊观赏不同颜色不同形状的胡姬花,孩子们异常兴奋,他们有的低头仔细去看花的内部构造,有的靠近嗅花的味道,有的在试着去触摸它柔和平滑的花瓣。老师走在他们中间说这是我们的国花,同时要小朋友们爱护花草。

    阳光下,远远望去,小朋友们在花草中穿行,如同在花的海洋中翩翩飞舞的蝴蝶,他们是我们的希望,正在茁壮成长。

          下午在学校里我们要让孩子们亲手制作食物,这是培养孩子们动手能力和生活自理能力的大好机会。今天带来的第一道美食是-披萨, 你看他们切菜,烘烤时那专注的眼神,那小心翼翼的动作,而当美味可口的披萨出炉放到嘴边可以品尝时,那种满足的表情又浮现在他们稚嫩又代英气的脸上。

     

     

    2007-12月假期活动-第二天

     

    白沙公园

    快乐的世界

          今天的目的地是白沙公园,走近公园门口已经看到或高或低,或易或难的器材错落有致,孩子们迫不及待地扑进这快乐的海洋。

          这里分为较小年龄活动区域,探险区域,挑战自我区域等适合不同年龄层的需要。你听,这里处处洋溢着欢笑声,冒险后成功的欢呼声,朋友间互相鼓励的支持声。你看,一个个小小的身影爬上爬下,跑跑跳跳。他们是那么有生命力,那么健康,那么向上。看着他们的成长,使我们对国家的未来充满信心。

          带着暂时的疲倦,我们兴致勃勃地参加下午的食品制作课程——汤圆刨冰糖水听了讲解就要随着老师的步骤自行操作,那种专注认真的眼神又出现了,大家忙得热火朝天,老师看的欣慰在心头,之后的品尝,他们会慢慢品味出辛苦,体会出父母的爱其实也凝聚在每天带给他们的食物中。

    红茂桥图书馆

    书的世界

    5-12-2007

     

         今天的活动是去宏茂桥图书馆参观。相信每个小朋友之前一定都有跟随家长借书的经历。所以当我们到达图书馆时小朋友们都自觉地不再开口讲话,老师还是带领着小朋友们有系统地浏览整个图书馆的公共设施。让他们更加懂得怎样去遵守一些公共设施。

         老师讲得娓娓动听的故事吸引了小读者的注意力,他们聚精会神,眼睛里闪出求知的火花。之后我们精选了一些图书给小朋友们坐下来静读。也许他们还不懂的文字的含义,但通过图片也可以增长见闻和知识,看着他们沉浸在书的海洋里,如同遨游在知识的海洋里,吸取精华,顿感欣慰。

          下午的制面过程也一样吸引小朋友,怎样把面皮从机器里取出来,又怎样把面皮制作成粗细均匀的面条,然后放进开水里煮熟,等等,每一项制作过程都是他们亲自操作完成。老师看在眼里真的很开心。

    新加坡国家动物园

    动物的世界

                新加坡的动物园世界闻名。每个小朋友已经不是第一次去到那里,却还是了此不彼。听到今天的行程安排,大家都欢呼雀跃。虽然早上的天气阴沉沉的,天空还飘下一丝细雨,但并不防碍我们的心情,到了动物园,雨水渐大,一些动物的表演不能举行了,但我们穿着雨衣还是兴致勃勃地时而搭车,时而步行去拜访每个动物的家。斑马,长颈鹿在吃早餐,白老虎,猴子在散步,豹子,狮子坐在那里淋雨懒洋洋的,棕熊一直抬着头仰望天空,似乎渴望可以落下一些蜂蜜满足他的馋嘴巴。我们边走边联想,边谈边开心地笑,随着太阳宫公露出笑脸,吃过了午餐,我们又开始轻装上阵,一路跟动物说再见,回到了学校。

                下午的食品制作更加具有吸引力—寿寺——小朋友的最爱。而且材料简单,容易操作。你看他们抓得满手米饭,但仍然乐在其中,做好后干脆不要切开来,就拿起一个大大的寿司卷享受美味。虽然嘴巴小小,却努力想张的最大,看着他们个个吃的津津有味,真是可爱至极.

     

     

    2007-12月假期活动-第五天

     

    东海岸

    海洋的世界

    7-12-2007

     

                今天是我们的最爱去处_---可以玩水,可以玩沙,可以不想任何事。大大的太阳挂在天空,预示着会是好天气陪伴着我们去东海岸公园。站在海水里,看着孩子们张开双臂奔跑着扑向大海的怀抱,多么天真,多么无邪,可以想象这是我们的未来正在成长,正向我们走来。

                在海天交界处,到处是孩子们爽朗的笑声,较大的可以游水了,较小的在玩沙,并也开始跃跃欲试,随着浪来浪去,他们的双脚也在跑前跑后,偶尔多走进一些,然后急转身向回跑去,转回头时,露出胜利的微笑。我会试着帮助他们走进水中,深入,再深入一些,直到他们叫停,但他们毕竟走进了大海,体会到大海的浪,体会到浪花的奔跑,体会到真正的海洋世界。

                虽然回来的路上每一个小朋友都已经很累了,但相信这是不同于跟家长去度假的感受,在他们的记忆里与朋友们的游戏,欢笑同样重要。
